Choosing your wedding cake is one of the most enjoyable parts of planning your celebration, but it often comes with a number of questions.
At Sugar Creations by Dimple, I work closely with couples across Leicestershire and the East Midlands to design bespoke wedding cakes that feel refined, elegant and personal.
Below are some of the most common questions to help guide you through the process with confidence.
When should we book our wedding cake?
It is best to book your wedding cake designer around 6 to 12 months before your wedding date, particularly if you are getting married during peak season.
This ensures availability and allows plenty of time for consultation, design and planning.
How much should we budget for a wedding cake?
Every cake I create is bespoke, so pricing will vary depending on the design, size and level of detail involved.
Wedding cakes typically start from a set base price, with most couples investing in the region of £1,200 to £1,500 once their design is finalised.
Intricate sugar flower work, larger tiered designs and more detailed finishes will influence the final cost, but this range offers a helpful guide when planning your budget.
Do you deliver to our venue?
Yes, I deliver wedding cakes across Leicestershire and the East Midlands, and I am also happy to travel further for the right couple.
I regularly design cakes for venues throughout the region and beyond, and I am always open to working at new and high end venues that align with my style.
If your venue is further afield, delivery can be discussed as part of your enquiry.
Can you match our wedding theme or flowers?
Absolutely. Every cake is designed to reflect your wedding as a whole.
From colour palette to styling and florals, I ensure your cake feels like a natural extension of your day. Handcrafted sugar flowers can be created to echo your chosen blooms, allowing for a cohesive and considered finish.
Do you offer different flavours?
Yes. Alongside elegant design, flavour is equally important.
I offer a range of carefully developed flavours, and we will discuss your preferences during the design process to ensure your cake tastes as beautiful as it looks.
What makes a luxury wedding cake?
A luxury wedding cake is about far more than appearance.
It is the combination of thoughtful bespoke design, high quality ingredients, refined craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Elements such as handcrafted sugar flowers elevate a cake into something that feels truly special, creating a centrepiece that reflects both the couple and the setting.
Can we see examples of your work?
Of course. I would always recommend exploring my portfolio to see the level of detail, design style and finishes I offer.
You will find a collection of bespoke wedding cakes created for couples across Leicestershire and beyond, each one designed with care and precision.
Where possible, I showcase real weddings and professional photography to ensure an authentic representation of my work.
How do we get started?
The first step is to get in touch and share a few details about your wedding, including your date, venue and any initial ideas you may have.
From there, we can begin the design process and create a wedding cake that feels truly personal to you.

A peek inside one of our beautiful weddings
Grace and Dan got married at the stunning Kilworth House Hotel
The space, the architecture, the atmosphere; their elegant, romantic cake design sat beautifully within the venue’s luxury aesthetic.
What made Grace and Dan’s cake journey truly unforgettable were all the little touches they wove into it. Grace had this incredible way of making every element meaningful. She designed personalised cake boxes for their guests; each one featuring the illustration of the cake I created for them, something that felt so personal and heartfelt.
She wore her mum’s wedding veil, a piece of family history that looked just as perfect in 2025 as it did in 1995. And beside their cake sat two sweet little bears that once stood proudly next to her parents’ wedding cake. Including them was Grace’s way of honouring her parents’ love story as it reached its 30th anniversary, and it was one of the many sentimental touches that added so much warmth and emotion to their display.
Her “Just Married” cardigan, lovingly made by @craftsupernova, made one of my favourite photographs even sweeter – Grace enjoying a slice of cake after the wedding, wrapped in something created just for her. And all of this was captured so beautifully by The Bearded Photographers, who documented every detail with such sensitivity and charm.
Every single element felt intentional. Grace and Dan didn’t just have a wedding cake; they created an experience around it.
